Description
11" (28 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead with elongated neck, very elaborate and full black sculpted hair with wide poufs at each side of face and a braid encircled topknot, blue painted eyes, black single-stroke brows, closed mouth, blushed cheeks, slender kid body, wooden lower arms and legs, painted yellow shoes. Condition: generally excellent, some craquelure on shoulder plate, some body patching. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: very elaborate rare coiffure, wearing original transfer printed muslin gown and undergarments.
