14" (36 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead, elongated throat, black sculpted hair with side pouf curls and high topknot circled by narrow braids (known as "beehive:), painted blue outlined eyes, single-stroke brows, closed mouth, slender kid torso and upper limbs, wooden lower arms and legs to just above the jointed knees and elbows, painted black shoes, antique costume. Condition: very good, nose rub, craquelure on shoulderplate. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: elaborate coiffure, rare jointing at elbows and knees.
