17" (43 cm.) h. seated. 12" l. egg. Seated upon a paper mache egg with pink flannel cover and gilt paper trim at the separation edges is a bisque head doll with large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accented center line, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, wooden block torso and feet, bisque forearms. Condition: generally excellent, hairline at right wrist. Comments: For the French market, bisque head by Gaultier, circa 1880, grand luxury "boite a bon-bons" or candy container presented by prestige Parisian confiterie. Value Points: all original luxury boite a bon-bons, the bisque poupee wearing original mauve silk ensemble and bonnet.
