Description
12" (30 cm.) Standing upon a wooden base with lithographed paper cover are two bisque head clowns, each with white complexion, dark glass eyes, painted clown decorations, spiral spring torso and upper arms, carved wooden lower arms and feet, wearing original silk clown costumes and holding wooden ball weights. When wound, the clowns bounce up and down, alternately lifting and lowering the weights they hold. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: L.C. (anchor mark) 11/0. Comments: French, circa 1890. Value Points: unusual mechanical toy with amusing activity.
