12" (30 cm.) Carved wooden head with natural polished finish, tinted eyes, brows, and shaded lips, black painted pate with long black queue, firmly stuffed muslin body. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Shanghai Door of Hope Mission doll, circa 1930, representing a Mourner. Value Points: wearing rare costume comprising two layer off-white linen robes, blue pants, linen slippers, stiff open-weave canvas jacket and cap, hemp-wrapped tie at the waist.
