15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, cobalt blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes and brows, rose blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth with outlined lips and double row of teeth, carton torso and full length carton skirt which encloses the deposed mechanism, bisque arms to above the elbows, hidden wheeled base. When wound the doll glides forward and in circles, raising arms and crying "mama". Condition: generally excellent, mechanism functions well. Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1867. Value Points: lovely antique costume, beautiful face with rich cobalt eyes, on the early Steiner deposed mechanical doll.
