Description
4" (10 cm.) and 5 1/2". Each is all-bisque with swivel head, bisque torso, peg-jointed bisque arms and legs, mohair wig, the boy with brown eyes and the two girls with blue eyes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, the larger two attributed to Simon and Halbig and are known as "black stocking" dolls in reference to their leg painting; the smaller closed mouth model made for the French market, circa 1885. Value Points: the petite dolls are each wearing their original costume, and are posed with antique rose-silk tufted chair.
