Description
14" (36 cm.) egg. 9" dolls. An elaborately woven Easter egg with double handles, opens at the center to reveal the surprise of two bisque dolls, each with socket head, blue glass eyes, open mouth, four tiny teeth, single-stroke brows, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, and wearing antique costume including little matching cap with bunny ears. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Germany 390 A 10/0 M. Comments: Springtime presentation basket designed as candy surprise, the dolls each hold a tiny wicker basket for candy treats, and originally other candies offered in the large basket alongside the dolls, circa 1910. Value Points: charming and wonderfully-preserved Easter basket presentation.
