7" (18 cm.) Paper mache brown painted bunny with painted eyes has a bellows torso, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted stockings and blue shoes, colorful cotton costume, is seated on a wooden chair, a slate tablet held in his lap and a pen in his right hand. When lever at back is moved up and down, he raises and lowers his head and moves his arm back and forth as though writing. The chair rests upon a cardboard box whose base removes for access to the candy container. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1890, wonderful vignette candy container with amusing mechanical action.
