Description
16" (41 cm.) Pink tinted bisque socket head with very full cheeks and chin, small intaglio painted blue eyes with white eye dots, one-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with downcast lips, brunette mohair bobbed wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, nicely costumed in black velvet Bavarian costume with embroidered detail. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 8204 Heubach (sunburst) 5 Germany. Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1912, the model appeared with either glass eyes or this rarer version with painted intaglio eyes. Value Points: very rare model enhanced by superb detail of sculpting, painting, and fine bisque which lend a highly characterized look.
