16" (41 cm.) One-piece carved wooden rounded head and flat-back torso, elongated throat, black enamel eyes in hand-cut sockets, dot painted lashes, one-stroke brows with dot accents, strong pointy nose, closed mouth with downcast lips, blush spots on cheeks, brunette hand-tied human hair ringlet curled wig, cloth upper arms, wooden lower arms and legs, separately-sculpted fingers, wooden legs pin-jointed at hips and knees. Condition: very good, old touch-up on neck, tiny chip on nose, some light craquelure. Comments: English, mid-1700s. Value Points: very distinctive face, original wig, original costume comprising gown with lacing closure and metallic thread edging, tiny matching slippers, stockings, undergarments, and rare fitted kidskin gloves.
