Description
14" (36 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead with oval face and elongated throat, painted blue eyes, single-stroke brows, aquiline nose, closed mouth, black sculpted hair drawn around side of face and captured in a coiled chignon at back of head, slender kid body, wooden lower arms and legs, painted green shoes, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent, original finish with some light age rubs. Comments: Germany, circa 1850, with hairstyle in the manner of young Queen Victoria. Value Points: the elegant simplicity of the model is counterpoint to her proud stature.
