22" (56 cm.) One-piece carved wooden head and upper torso, carved hair in short bobbed fashion, well-defined sculpting of facial features, elongated throat, tacked-on linen upper arms, wooden lower arms, lower torso with large dowel-jointing at the waist allowing for a seated pose, linen thighs, carved wooden lower legs with painted stockings. Condition: good, original finish albeit quite rubbed, two fingers chipped. Comments: maker unknown of the folk art doll, likely mid-1800s. Value Points: intriguing construction and charming folk appeal of carving and expression.
