Description
30" (76 cm.) Felt swivel head with firmly-pressed and painted angular facial features, strongly-defined cheeks, jaw and nose structure, painted brown side-glancing eyes, painted thick brows and lashes, accented nostrils, closed mouth, brown cropped weft-stitched hair, elongated torso and jointed limbs, molded bent elbows. Condition: generally excellent, two tiny moth holes in coat. Comments: Lenci, the model #560 appeared in their 1928 catalog, and portrays Valentino in the then current films "The Sheik" and "The Son of the Sheik". Value Points: an extremely rare model with distinctive facial sculpting for this model only and having extraordinary detail of original costume, in exemplary state of preservation, including details of embroidery, felt and metallic appliques, leather tooled and ornamented high boots, jeweled sword, jeweled rings, leather belt, felt lined coat ,and other accouterments, all of them original. Few examples are known to exist, this example in likely the finest condition known.
