Description
14" (36 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed facial features, brown side-glancing eyes with dark eyeliner, one-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed thin-line mouth with downcast lips, stitched ears, firmly-stuffed muslin torso and limbs, felt mitten hands, jointing at shoulders and hips. Wearing tan felt jacket with bead buttons, turquoise pants with very full legs and felt patches, matching stitched- on cap, wooden shoes. Condition: costume is excellent except some fading at back pants, felt is worn at back lower head, felt rub on nose. Marks: Lenci (1923 metal button). Comments: Lenci, 1923, model 102. This doll is shown in Lenci, The History and the Dolls by Nancy Lazenby, page 53. Value Points: hard to find 1923 button, the doll has excellent hand-painted face.
