19" (48 cm.) Felt swivel head, pressed and painted facial features, brown side-glancing eyes, tiny painted upper lashes, one-stroke brows, grey eye shadow, accented nostrils, closed mouth, shaded lower lip with two accent dots, brunette weft-stitched curly frizzed hair, felt torso and limbs, jointing at shoulders and hips, two middle fingers stitch-attached. Wearing green felt dropped waist dress with hip sash, pink and magenta felt applique striping on skirt and wide neck sash, teal green edging on collar and cuffs, organdy slip and matching undie, socks, grey flannel shoes, large grey flannel bow. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Lenci Turin Italy Di E Scavini Made in Italy 110/46 Pat. Sept 8 1921 (rectangular paper label). Comments: Lenci, the doll appeared in the 1926 catalog, named "Meme", as the revised slimmer body of the earlier 110 model. Value Points: wonderful fashionable child in fine state of preservation, original label; the actual doll is shown in Lenci, The History and the Dolls by Nancy Lazenby, page 82.
