18" (46 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed and painted mask face, stitched ears, very plump chin, brown side-glancing eyes with decorative glaze, painted curly upper lashes, dot brows, accented nostrils of tiny nose, very full brunette mohair wig weft-sewn to scalp, felt torso and limbs, mitten hands, jointed arms and legs. Wearing fuchsia felt pinafore dress with pink detailing and unusual box pleating, unusual one-piece original undergarment, fuchsia shoes. Condition: doll is excellent, shoes and back of dress are faded. Marks: (earliest Lenci metal button on undergarment). Comments: Lenci, Series 110, the earliest version as appearing in 1920s Playthings magazine. Value Points: very rare doll with wonderful face and expression, exuberant very full curls, unusual undergarment, original metal button.
