Description
16" (41 cm.) Felt swivel head with oval face and pressed facial features, large brown side-glancing eyes, painted curly upper lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostril, closed mouth with two accent dots on lower lip, auburn mohair weft-sewn to scalp, felt torso and limbs, jointing at shoulders and hips. Wearing orange felt dress with golden felt scalloped trim and applique flowers, matching hair bow, matching felt shoes, socks, organdy slip and panties. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Lenci, the early 1925 version of Series 149, this being Z model, the actual doll was shown and discussed in Lenci, The History and The Dolls by Nancy Lazenby, page 103. Value Points: important doll in study of the 149 series evolution, with especially delightful costume that well retains its original vibrancy and color.
