13" (33 cm.) Felt swivel head, pressed and painted facial features, narrow brown side-glancing eyes, right eye nearly closed as though winking, thick brown curly lashes, fringed brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with coral-shaded lower lip, carrot-red mohair wig, jointing at shoulders and hips, barefoot with distinct big toe. Wearing brown wool felt dress with black edging, grey felt apron and neck scarf, black beret, undergarment, carrying a basket of felt garden vegetables. Condition: generally excellent, small rub on chin. Comments: Lenci, the winking lady, model 264, a variation of the popular model that first appeared in 1920; this doll with basket of felt vegetables and flowers appeared in the 1926 catalog as model 264. Value Points: wonderful rare hair color accentuates the costume and vegetables; girl winking models are rare to find.
