Description
29 1/2" (75 cm.) Felt swivel head, pressed and painted facial features, brown eyes glancing to the right, dark eyeliner, painted curly upper lashes, grey eye shadow, fringed brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, accented lower lip, rooted brunette hair in short cropped style, very elongated torso and legs, jointing at shoulders, hips and knees, pointed toe feet. Wearing vivid harlequin costume of pink tunic and pants with yellow, red and black accent trim and pom-poms, white gloves, red shoes, unusual wide hoop-like overskirt, and wide-brimmed pointy-tip hat with extended pink-stemmed yellow felt flower. Condition: doll is excellent, costume is complete with some light fading of pink. Comments: Lenci, the doll was featured in a Lenci 1924 Parisian exhibition "Carnaval de Venise", and in 1925 appeared in the Lenci catalog as model 193, partnered with the following lot of this catalog. Value Points: the very rare model with fantastical costume in vivid design is well-preserved.
