17" (43 cm.) Felt swivel head, pressed and painted facial features with pronounced chubbiness of cheeks and chin, brown side-glancing eyes, painted upper lashes, one-stroke brows, accented nostrils of wide rounded nose, closed mouth with bow-shaped pursed lips, stitched-on brunette mohair wig, felt body with jointing at shoulders and hips, joined middle fingers. Wearing costume of prosperous burgermeister including red felt edged brown jacket and yellow vest, matching brown tricorn hat, green trousers, striped knit socks, black shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Lenci, from the 1500 series, marketed as Grugnetto, this doll from the Garella epoch, late 1930s. Value Points: especially fine modeling with well-defined features.
