15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass spiral threaded eyes with darker blue outer edges, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees, wearing vintage black woolen uniform with red piping, belt, military cap, leather boots. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 2 (head and shoulders). Comments: French, circa 1870. Value Points: very fine quality of bisque, sturdy firm body, brilliant blue eyes.
