Description
36" (91 cm.) Dark brown felt swivel head, pressed and painted facial features, side-glancing brown eyes, accented nostrils, red stitched and padded red lips, black tightly-curled rooted wig, brown felt torso and limbs, jointing at shoulders and hips, separated fingers. Wearing green felt trousers with inset mirrors and elaborate embroidery, magenta and cream sash, lime green felt embroidered wristlets, wide felt headband with applique patches, embroidered slippers with upturned toes. Condition: doll is excellent except few moth holes on arms, costume has slight fading. Comments: Lenci, the 260 model was offered as this standing version, and also with elongated body designed for seated pose, both identified as model 260, and named "Sam", described as "The Sultan's Moorish Guard"; the 260 model was likely made for one or two years only. Value Points: extraordinary detail of costume, with vibrant embroidery and with original wooden accessories including carved necklace, bangle earrings, decorated scimitar.
