Description
7" (18 cm.) Felt swivel head with rich black complexion, pressed and painted facial features, brown side-glancing eyes, "O" shaped mouth, black felt body with jointing at shoulders and hips. Wearing faux-grass skirt, embroidered "grass" details on torso and legs, symbolic necklace, brass bangle earrings and bracelet and stitched-on black felt cap with faux-grass topknot and fringe, and with hanging loop at crown. Condition: excellent. Comments: Lenci, from a series of loop-attached novelty figures shown in the 1933 Lenci catalog. Value Points: remarkably fine state of preservation of the rare miniature.
