Description
4" (10 cm.) Each has wooden head with simply painted facial features attached to hollow costume with open bottom designed to slip over the shell of a soft-boiled egg for warmth. Wearing multi-layered felt costumes and caps, she with folklore style costume with elaborate appliques and glass-jeweled decorations on coiffe; and he as burgermeister with red flannel great coat, black tricorn hat and carrying brown satchel. Marks: Lenci (square label and rectangular tag labeled 4015). Condition: excellent. Comments: Lenci, from the novelty line, the egg cozies (identified as Copri Uova or Ouvre Oeufs) appeared as models 4012 and 4015 in the 1928 Lenci catalog. Value Points: pristine like new condition of the rarely-found objects from the accessory line.
