Description
19" (48 cm.) Felt swivel head, pressed and painted facial features, brown glass "flirting" googly eyes, long curly lashes, arched short brows, "O" shaped closed mouth, black mohair wig captured in felt-enclosed cap at her crown, felt body with jointing at shoulders and hips. Wearing folklore costume comprising white blouse, red felt skirt, black apron with colorful wool panel embroidered to match her embroidered boots, multi-colored pom-poms and ribbons. Condition: excellent. Marks: Lenci (silver foil lettered 11) also blue lettered Lenci cloth tag, and green outlined paper tag lettered "Fobello". Comments: Lenci, late 1930s, from the very limited glass-eyed googly series introduced in 1937. Value Points: exceptionally fine condition of the rare doll with wonderful detail of coiffure and boots.
