Description
8" (20 cm.) Felt doll with swivel head, pressed and painted facial features, brown side- glancing round eyes, pronounced grey eye shadow, painted lashes and upper eyeliner, lightly-feathered brows, closed mouth with tiny bow-shaped lips, rooted light brown tousled curly mohair wig, felt limbs jointed at shoulders and hips. Wearing aqua and coral felt one-piece suit with pockets and pearl buttons, aqua felt slippers. Condition: generally excellent, very light costume fading. Marks: Lenci (silver foil tag letters "35" on reverse). Comments: Lenci, mid-1930s. Value Points: rare facial painting for miniature series, especially artistic painting of eyes.
