19" (48 cm.) Felt swivel head, pressed and painted facial features, deeply-set brown side-glancing eyes, painted lashes, closed mouth, stitched-on brown mohair wig, muslin torso and jointed legs, felt jointed arms, wearing cream thickly-woven canvas-like long dress with felt insets and borders, attached apron, elaborate coiffure of red felt with blue and yellow edging, cotton petticoat and pantalets with red scalloped edging, and carrying hand-painted wooden spoon. Condition: doll excellent, costume has some worn felt trim, few spots on gown. Marks: Lenci (bambola label) Lappone (paper label). Comments: Lenci, 1940s, doll is wearing traditional costume of Lapland. Value Points: rarely found doll, the Bambola label is also red ink-lettered "Ninetta 4/12" and may indicate a limited production of this doll.
