17 1/2" (44 cm.) Felt swivel head, pressed and painted facial features, brown slightly down-glancing eyes, pronounced grey lower eye shadow, thick brown painted lashes, accented nostrils, closed mouth, well-defined chin, rooted short brunette mohair wig, felt body with jointing at shoulders and hips. Wearing black felt parade uniform with silver buttons, fringed epaulets, white braiding with red edging, white leather belt with holster for attached wooden sword, black leather shoes, and elaborate bicorn hat with medallion and feathers. Condition: excellent. Marks: Lenci Torino (silver label, with pencil script 100/23 on reverse side). Comments: Lenci, circa 1933, the classic 300 model was re-labeled as 100 series in that year by Lenci; this particular model is #23 from a series of dolls in military parade costumes that were shown in that year's catalog. Value Points: pristine condition of the rare model with exceptional detail of costume.
