Description
17" (43 cm.) Felt swivel head, pressed and painted facial features, brown side-glancing eyes with enhancing glaze, painted upper curly lashes, grey eye shadow, single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, light brown stitched-on wig with long braid at the back, flannel/felt torso and jointed legs, felt jointed arms. Wearing green felt folklore dress with brown banding and cuffs, inset felt yoke cotton cap, cotton petticoat and pantalets with green felt edging, organdy apron, gold beads, wooden clogs, and carrying woven basket of colorful felt vegetables. Condition: excellent, one small hole in apron. Marks: Lenci (white cloth label and square Bambola label with hand-lettered name on reverse (illegible). Comments: Lenci, the model was shown in the 1933 catalog as "Laura 27". Value Points: the solemn faced doll retains original basket of fruit and hard to find gold necklace.
