18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, large brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at elbows. Condition: bisque excellent, body sturdy with some patches. Marks: 5. Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1880. Value Points: the lovely portrait model is wearing silk brocade gown created by Parisian couturier with silk fragments from a young lady's wedding gown she had sewn. The doll is preserved in early box lettered "mariage of Josephine le 3 janvier de l'an 1882" along with Josephine's exquisite bridal bouquet of wire-framed silk flowers and Alencon lace.
