Description
18" (46 cm.) Very firm composition socket head, painted facial features, large brown eyes with dark brown upper eyeliner, one stroke brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with very full lips, auburn wig in side coiled braids, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, wearing multi-layered folklore costume including elaborate velvet coiffe. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: KIII (impressed mark on head). Comments: Marion Kaulitz, from her series of art dolls introduced at the Munich Art Fair in 1908, which were designed to present more realistic portrayals of children. Value Points: very expressive features on the rarely-found doll, especially difficult to find with impressed artist markings on head.
