Description
13" (33 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, mohair lashes, brushstroked brows, painted lashes, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, French composition body with hinge-jointed legs, jointed shoulders; when key-wound at the side torso the doll "walks". Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1078 Halbig Germany 4 1/2. Comments: Simon and Halbig for Roullet et Decamps, circa 1895. Value Points: the bebe was presented by Parisian toy store, Au Nain Bleu, and is preserved in her original trunk with Au Nain Bleu label, along with various dresses, cream cashmere coat, necklace, undergarments, and bonnet with Au Nain Bleu label.
