18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, dark mauve eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined shaded lips, separately modeled pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, old retouch on body. Marks: Depose E. 8 J. (and artist checkmarks). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1882. Value Points: the rich brown eyes are enhanced by beautifully-painted eye shadow, antique costume includes burgundy shoes with rosettes signed "E. Jumeau Med d'or Paris 8".
