15" (38 cm.) Bisque socket head with deeply-defined facial features, blue painted eyes in deeply-set narrow eye sockets, brown upper eyeliner, white eye dots, defined crinkles under the eyes, one-stroke brows, accented nose, closed mouth modeled as though open with suggestion of painted teeth, defined dimple at chin and philtrum, auburn mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique traditional style costume with metallic embroidery and beading. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 208 (large block numbers at base of neck). Comments: Germany, mystery maker, circa 1910, the rare model was presented during the art character reform movement of the era. Value Points: rarity of the doll is rivaled by its quality of modeling and bisque, distinctive expression.
