Description
15" (38 cm.) Bisque socket head, small brown glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with modeled tongue tip and row of porcelain teeth, blonde mohair bobbed wig over plaster pate, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 179 (head) Germany (body). Comments: Kestner, circa 1910, the model appeared with either painted eyes or this rare variation with glass eyes. Value Points: seldom-found character with very expression features, original body and body finish, antique costume highlighted by double-breasted burgundy woolen jacket with anchor buttons, and carrying wooden toy ship.
