Description
18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and shoulderblades, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, slender kid bebe body with scalloped upper rim, Chevrot-hinged hips, wooden lower legs, bisque forearms with separately-sculpted fingers. Condition: bisque head excellent, shoulderplate with three broken pieces reglued, kid body patched at upper torso, bisque hands perfect except broken left pinky finger. Marks: Bru Jne 6 (head and shoulderplate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1885. Value Points: beautiful face from the Golden Era of Bru, the bebe is wearing lovely antique costume comprising linen princess style dress with cutwork trim, undergarments, stockings, shoes and bonnet.
