Description
18" (46 cm.) Composition head with sculpted ears and plump cheeks, painted creamy complexion with brown-shaded ears, painted side-glancing googly eyes with long curly lashes, dot brows, tiny "O" shaped mouth with painted freckles and whiskers, muslin five-piece body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Peter Rabbit, Quaddy, Pat. Jan. 30, 1917 (red silk banner on chest). Comments: Quaddy Playthings created Peter Rabbit pull-toys and this doll based upon the Harrison Cady illustrations of Peter Rabbit; the doll was illustrated and advertised in 1917 with the message "what better could you suggest to your customer as an Easter Present?".
