Description
12" (30 cm.) Standing upon a cardboard candy box with lithographed paper floral design at the sides and a textured grass flocking with flowers on the lid is a bisque head lady with striking blue glass inset eyes, painted features, closed mouth, blonde mohair wig, shapely torso, bisque lower arms, holding a basket of candies in one arm and flowers in the other. When her right arm is moved up and down as though offering the candies, she turns her head from side to side. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1885. Value Points: the early candy container is highlighted by especially beautiful face of lady, and by charming mechanical action.
