15" (38 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass sleep and side-glancing googly eyes, painted curly lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with wide beaming smile, accent line between the lips, auburn mohair bobbed wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed toddler body with side-hip jointing, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 173-6. Comments: Hertel and Schwab for Strobel & Wilkin, 1914, the googly was marketed as "Jubilee" googly to celebrate the firm's 50th anniversary. Value Points: the wide-eyed googly has wide beaming smile to match, complemented by very fine painting of complexion.
