12" (30 cm.) Wax head with sculpted and painted facial features, tiny black bead eyes, closed mouth, firmly-stuffed fabric body, wooden legs with painted flat black boots, wax hands, wearing original multi-layered costume including quilted skirt, dress, apron, red woolen cape, black bonnet with face-framing lace cap. Condition: very good. Comments: English, early 1800s. Value Points: early wax peddler is wearing original costume and is carrying a fabric-covered tray of sewing wares and novelties.
