Description
22" (56 cm.) w. x 21"h. x 10"d. The wooden-framed room with angled side walls and glass front has original paper covering on walls and an architecturally detailed altar against the back wall, centered by levels of shelving. The room is fitted with more than 30 miniature liturgical objects including figures, symbolic items, framed wall hangings, and four waxed arrangements under original tiny glass domes. The pieces are all original to the diorama or to the era (the front glass panel is removable). Continental, early 1800s, a remarkable and wonderfully preserved study in liturgical ephemera in miniature form.
