Description
18" (46 cm.) Solid domed bisque shoulderhead with very delicate complexion, blue glass eyes with spiral threading and darker blue irises, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line on the downcast lips, pierced ears, kid gusset-jointed body with bisque arms to above elbows. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 10. Comments: Sonneberg, maker unknown, circa 1880, the doll closely resembles the Bru Brevete whose market it sought to capture. Value Points: very beautiful doll with entrancing eyes nicely contrasting the pale complexion and delicate lips, lovely antique costume.
