27" (69 cm.) Each has wooden socket head with back cut for detachable wooden pate which is held in place by wooden plug, blue or brown glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, closed mouth, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: very good, boy has some touch-up on face, body on girl is not original but is of the era and correct size. Comments: Rudolf Schneider of Sonneberg, circa 1890, whose doll factory specialized in wooden dolls; smaller versions of the doll model were made entirely of wood under his registered trademark of "bebe tout en bois". Value Points: rare to find dolls were intriguing construction.
