Description
21" (53 cm.) Bisque socket head, dark blue glass sleep eyes that operate from lever at back of head, painted lashes with "dot" highlights, rose blushed eyeshadow, thickly fringed brows with feathered highlights, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, open mouth with slightly parted outlined lips, double row of tiny porcelain teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over Steiner pate, French composition fully jointed body, wearing rose silk dress, undergarments and shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: J. Steiner Bte SGDG Paris Figure B No 3 (head) (eyes also signed J. Steiner). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1885. Value Points: rarely-found model. Figure B, with wonderful painting of brows and shadow, choice bisque, rarer lever sleep eyes.
