Description
19" (48 cm.) x 12" stove. 21" x 14" case. 27" case displayed open. Preserved in its original wooden carrying case which is designed to open at top and sides providing a background for the stove, is a metal and chrome kitchen stove with claw feet, unusual burner plate allowing for insertion of various sized pots, and a background tin plate attached to wooden wall on which is lithographed a tile design of pink and blue with fleur-de-lis designs. Two racks for utensils are attached to the back wall, and the stove is furnished with working oven doors, chimney, an all-around chrome towel bar. A proverb is scrolled on the tile (in German) which praises a "bright and clean" kitchen, and further instructs that with this stove "you can do much with little". The German registration medallion "Gebrauchs muster" appears on the stove suggesting its possible origin as a miniature model or salesman sample. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1900.
