Description
29" (74 cm.) h. x 17"w. x 9"d. The secretary desk of finest burled rosewood features a dropped front writing surface with separate lock and key for access, the interior fitted with set-back mirror, small drawer, columnar sides and ornate cornice. The desk has an additional drawer just below the marble top, while the bottom section features another large drawer which is accessed by a second key. Excellent condition. French, circa 1820, the superb woods, very fine bronze mountings and key, and superior workmanship indicate original creation as a maitrise model.
