Description
18" (46 cm.) Solid domed bisque shoulderhead, small brown glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, delicate rose-blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils of tiny nose, closed mouth with shaded lips, unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig, kid body with gusset jointing at elbows, hips and knees, bisque forearms and hands. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 106 7. Comments: Sonneberg, attributed to C.F. Kling, circa 1880; this particular model closely resembles Kling's model 123 (see lot #211 of this catalog). Value Points: especially gentle expression enhanced by delicate bisque and painting of features, original body, antique costume.
