30" (76 cm.) Bisque socket head with very full cheeks, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, lightly-feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, rose-blushed eye shadow, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded and outlined lips, separately-modeled pierced ears, hand-tied brunette human hair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 14 (and artist checkmarks) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1885, a premiere tete model with characteristic expression of the earlier rare incised depose model. Value Points: rare size of the especially beautiful large Jumeau with finest quality creamy bisque, original signed body, fabulous original Jumeau couturier costume of burgundy velvet and red silk comprising dress and bonnet, undergarments, red knit stockings, black leather shoes.
