Description
20" (51 cm.) Solid domed paper mache shoulderhead, painted black pate with tendrils of curls framing the face, black enamel eyes, delicately painted upper lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, two upper and two lower teeth, kid poupee body with gusset jointing at elbows, hips and knees, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1850. Value Points: especially sturdy body, original wig over finely-painted pate curls, antique costume, and carrying her own little collection of Grodnertal wooden peg-jointed dolls.
